2024 was...
We hope you all had a wonderful festive period over December and you're ready for more golf ahead in 2025!
When we start setting our golfing goals for the year ahead, it's appropriate to look back on all that happened in 2024.
How was your golf game?
How was 2024 for you personally? Did you manage to play lots of golf or had you wished to get out there more? (You can never play too much golf!) How about starting next year with fresh targets in mind including what handicap you’d like to be this time next year? In the pro shop, we’re here for you, and there are multiple ways we can help you reach your goals.
Off the tee
Driving off the tee really does set you up for the hole ahead, and if you aren’t getting on with your driver it can put you in a bad mood before you’ve even started. Think back on your driving this year, did you have a lot of control over where you placed your tee shots, or did you feel like you were always flying into the rough?
If you feel like the latter, you may well not be playing with the right driver. When you visit us in the pro shop, we’ll take a look at how you approach the ball and how you swing your clubs. We’ll then get a better idea of what kind of equipment would be most appropriate for you, and help you into a new driver. Why not start 2025 with the right club in hand?
Approaching the green
Once you’re off the tee and find yourself nicely on the fairway, it’s time to approach the green. What’s your usual plan of attack here? Do you prefer to lay up or go for the green? If you find when you go for the green you’re either coming up short or hitting through it, you’re clearly setting up to the ball with the wrong iron.
When you come to us for a gapping session, we’ll measure how far you strike each of your clubs to ensure you have an equal yardage gap between your irons. This is an excellent way to gain confidence in your approach shots and have faith you’re picking the right club for the next shot.
Putting
The closer we get to the hole, the more important the accuracy of our shots. How was your putting this summer? Were you fist-pumping over sinking some lengthy putts or were you grumbling over recurring 3-putts? Putting really is where the hole is won or lost, so if your short game is troubling you, why not book yourself in for some lessons?
We give all kinds of golf lessons to suit all customers, from short-game lessons, to iron play, and driving off the tee.
Playing with the right equipment and playing well go hand in hand. We wish you all a happy new year and we can’t wait to help you see your golf game thrive throughout 2025!
